St Olave’s Church Prayer Cycle
Please keep Revd Liz Hassall and her family in your prayers following their move to York in these rather more complicated than usual times.
OUR DIOCESAN CONSULTATION
Living Christ’s Story Together
In the coming months, we will be spending time in our PCCs and congregations looking at the materials from Archbishop Stephen and his team about the refreshed vision that we have as a diocese and what it means to live Christ’s story together.
In a nutshell:
“As the church of Jesus Christ we have two stories to tell: the story of Jesus’s life, death and resurrection; and the continuing story of what Jesus has done through his church, including what he is doing in our lives now by the power of the Spirit. That’s Living Christ’s Story.”
I do encourage all of you to look at these.
Services and Private Prayer
Sunday Sung Eucharist in Church at 10:30am
Join us for the 'in-person' service at St Olave's at 10.30am. The format now includes hymns, a choir anthem and a short mass setting. There will be an area at the back of church reserved for those who prefer not to have people around them singing. If you are happy to sing, please sit nearer the front! Please continue to wear masks during worship, especially while speaking or singing. The choir will not sing during the distribution of Communion, so that those who are nervous of being around singers feel able to go up to receive Communion. You can find the October music list here.
Sunday Online Service on YouTube at 10:30am
The Sunday online (YouTube) service starts at 10.30am, but why not join us from 10.15 so that you can greet other members of the congregation via YouTube Live Chat and hear some wonderful organ playing! The online service is also available on our YouTube channel to catch up later.
Friday Eucharist in Church at 11am
As the Sunday morning worship becomes busier with more music, the Friday Eucharist is offered for people who would feel safer at a smaller and quieter service. This service will also be used as a time for recording material for the weekly online service. Those in the congregation will not appear on-screen.
Private Prayer in Church
We are delighted to announce that St Olave's is now open again during the day for visitors and those who wish to pray.
Please continue to sanitise hands and wear face coverings while in the building.
